Poles are at the training camp in Szczyrk

Polish team unfortunately did not manage to win during the qualification tournament in Ankara and promote to the Olympic Games. After four matches won, the white-and-reds finally loose with Turkey. Now our team will have to face the following challenges.

Alojzy Świderek: we were so close

- We were so close- continued coach Świderek. – We have been preparing to every single match with strong focus on the following one. We did not look forward. The same assumption was at the final match. We tried not to think of what will be if we win or lose. Our goal was to play the match point by point, till the end. Still, we are only human beings. It normal that finally we started to think about promotion to the Olympic Games. It was a big challenge to handle with. We did not make it.

Naslihan Darnel: today we played better

Alojzy Świderek (coach of the polish national team): - I would like to congratulate Turkey the victory and historical promotion to the Olympic Games tournament. I am very sorry the team did not manage to deal with the pressure of the game. It has not been a nice match, but so important matches are usually like that. Once again I would like to express my sincere congratulations and wishes of good luck in London.

Alojzy Świderek: a hard work begins

Today in Szczyrk, the polish senior women’s national team begun a training camp preparing to the Olympic games qualification tournament (Ankara, 1st of May- 6th of May). The players reached the center at 19:00h. Only Anna Podelec and Karolina Kosek are missing, because of the league tournaments which are still lasting. Podolec will join the training camp on Thursday and Kosek next Wednesday (18th of April).

World Grand Prix 2012 - 25 players

Authorities of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) informed that in the year of the Olympic games in London, coaches of the women’s teams participating at World Grand Prix, will be allowed to register 25 players for the tournament – and not as it used to be - 20.

Coach Owczynnikow reveals secrets

Russia is going to be one of the rivals of Poland at the qualification tournament in Ankara (1st-6th of May). The winner of the tournament will play at the Olympic Games in London. Team of coach Siergiej Owczynnikow will have the preparation process in term 22nd – 29th of April.

For Olympic nomination to Ankara!

Coach of the Polish Senior Volleyball Women’s National Team, Alojzy Świderek, announced composition of the national team for the preparations to the European Qualifications Tournament to the Olympic Games in London, in April. In term 1st-6th of May 2012, in Ankara, the white-and-reds with play in group B with Serbia, Russia and the Netherlands.

March in volleyball is not the time of the national team. The white-and-red national teams, both mens’ and women’s, are still ahead of their most important challenges. In March and April the fight for the title of the champion of the women’s Plus League and men’s Plus League will perform.

World Grand Prix 2012 already in three months

On the 8th of June this year’s edition of the World Grand Prix tournament in women's volleyball will begin. This will be the 20th edition in the history of the tournament. 16 teams will participate in the tournament (till the year 2010 there were 12 participants only): USA (no. 1 in the FIVB ranking), Brazil (2), Japan (3), Italy (4), China (5), Serbia (6), Germany (8), Dominican Republic (9), Cuba (10), Turkey (11), Thailand (12), South Korea (13), POLAND (14), Argentina (18) and Puerto Rico (19), as well as Kenya (15) or Taiwan (depending on the 28th qualifications which are not finished yet).
